Three years ago, I developed a deep interest in mangroves, ever since I encountered them on a nature walk I organized as the officer of our marine conservation club, Blue Planet Initiative. Intrigued, I learned more about them through the internet, books and research papers. I then formulated my own research question about the resilience of mangroves as a blue carbon solution under climate change, and wrote a research paper addressing it, which has been published in the International Journal of Student Research. This helped me develop a comprehensive understanding of mangrove ecology and the ecosystem services they provide.
